Our Mission

The mission of the Tye Industrial Development Corporation is to use sales tax revenue to effectively stimulate Tye’s economic growth. This is done by evaluating the community’s economic needs, developing a plan to meet those needs, coordinating community development efforts and supporting targeted activities that promote development purposes and expanded business enterprises that enhance the quality of life in the community and maximize the public’s return on invested tax dollars.

Our Goals

To make Tye competitive in the attraction of business and industry in order to create new, sustainable jobs.
To create new jobs and retain existing jobs by providing assistance to existing and emerging businesses.
To strengthen and expandthe skills of the Tye labor force.
To clean up and revitalize downtown Tye.
To help bring, retail business such as a grocery store, motel, fast food restaurants, and a bank to Tye

Facade Grant Program

Grants up to $5,000 offered to commercial businesses for enchancement projects such as windows, doors, awnings, sidewalks, parking, and more.

  • Competitive process – not all applicant wil be awarded grant funds
  • Available for exterior improvements only.
  • Applicants must show proof of 10% of the project costs when applying
  • May be used for: new signage (on property), windows, doors, awnings, exterior paint, sidewalks, parking improvements, and more

Approved by the voters of Tye, Tye Industrial Development Corporation uses sales tax revenue to help bring new businesses and to retain and expand existing businesses in our city. Tye Economic Development Corporation:

The Tye Economid Development Corporation, approved by the voters of Tye, uses sales tax revenue to enhance the Community at large, such as parks project, road projects, and projects to enhance the local business economy.Serving on the Board of Directors are: President – Jeanette Kingery, Vice President – Ken Arnold, Treasurer/Secretary – Teresa Teaff, and Directors Noah Jones, Amye Butler, Pam Perkins, and Kenney Dry.

Current Projects

Targeted Infrastructure Grants – Beginnig March 12, 2018, both the 4A and 4B Development Corporations will be accepting grant applications for the Targeted Infrastructure Grant Project. This project is limited to businesses located on the North side of Interstate 20 and is for the specific purpose of financially assisting those businesses to connect to the new sewer line being laid between Spinks road and FM 707 by the City of Tye in 2018. A full Engineering Plan for this project is available for viewing at the CEO’s office during normal business hours.

Facade Enhancement Grant Project – Beginning March 12, 2018, Tye Industrial Development Corporation will be accepting applications for our Facade Enhancement Program for businesses within the municipal boundaries of Tye, Texas. This project is limited to financial assistance for repair, enhancements, and upgrades to the immediate exterior of the business and includes items such as doors, windows, awnings, signage, sidewalks, and parking lots.

Public Parks Project – Beginning March 12, 2018, both the 4A and 4B Development Corporations will partner with the City of Tye to enhance, repair, and upgrade equipment and facilities at the City’s municipal parks including Rister Park.

Grant applications for the Facade and Infrastructure projects will be made available online on March 12, 2018.
