Solid Infrastructure
Water
The City of Tye has a reliable water supply through a municipally owned and operated system. The water comes from Lake Ft. Phantom and is bought through the City of Abilene. The distribution system has mains from to 65 psi and up to 110 psi static pressure.

- Commercial water rate is $19.00 min. with $4.25 for each 1,000 gal metered per month.
Wastewater
Service supplied by the City of Tye through a municipally owned and operated system.
- The residential rate is $19.00 per month. Sewer $6.00.
- The commercial wastewater rate is $10.00 plus 1.00 for everything over 1,000 gallons.
Solid Waste
The City of Tye has their own collection and disposal services, however they do contract with the BFI for their landfill.
- The residential rate is $16.84 per month plus $1.39 tax.
- The commercial garbage rates vary staring a $28.56 per month and increasing based on the number of weekly stops.
- The City dump truck is available to rent for $150.00 deposit, whatever the landfill charges per load we take out of the deposit.
Telecommunications
- Local telephone service is provided by Southwestern Bell.
- Long distance service is available through AT&T, MCI, NII, and Sprint.
- Tye does have High Speed Internet DSL capabilities with Cox Communications
Electrical Power
Electricity in Tye is supplied by AEP/WTU, Taylor County Electric, Oncor and TXU.

Gas Service
Natural gas is supplied by TXU, an investor owned natural gas supplier it is the third-largest generator of electricity in the USA.
TXU Energy owns more than 21,000 megawatts of coal, natural gas and nuclear generation capacity, TXU also owns and operates one of the national’s largest lignite surface-mining operations, producing about 30 million tons of lignite coal a year.
